I just bought a North Face Mountain 25 tent (360) and a Bibler Bivy (210). Spending money is easy but working sucks.

In reply to: Travel to Chile by land, or die trying. die trying would be the likely scenario.

How's this? From an email I just sent out to the folks going to J-Tree with me: -Flight should be about $300 -We can rent two cars (cheaper than one SUV or van) for $320 for the week. Divided 5 ways that's $64 per person. If we end up with only 3 or 4 people, we'll drop to one car and it will actually be cheaper. -Camping should be cheap or free. Worst case scenario it will cost us each $16 for the whole trip -Food. Totally depends on how you want to do it. If we cook it all ourselves it'll cost less than you spend on food at home. We'll probably want to eat at restaurants from time to time though. -Total cost should be right around $500 per person
