Hi Everyone, I have a new web site that includes galleries of athletic women climbing, surfing, biking etc. and also includes an e-zine area. If anyone seeing this message could have a look and let me know what they think of it(good or bad I can take it). http://www.bikiniathletes.com Thanks, Carla

Uh...I can see climbing outdoors in a bikini, but why in the hey would you climb in a gym in a bikini??? I've seen odder... My guy once climbed at Paradise Rock Gym wearing only a sock! LOL Who are you trying to market with this site? What is its purpose? The pics are nice...

Agreed - these woman would be much hotter if there were cranking out an 11.b on lead! I love seeing hot woman in bikini's as much as the next dude - but get hot woman who can actually climb. Nice site overall though. I'm just being picky since you asked for an honest opinion. I would also like to volunteer myself to teach these woman how to climb - I provide one on one hands on mentoring.

Ok...I finished looking at your site and here are my thoughts... I can understand why some women would want to be featured on this site...to gain exposure to pursue a modeling career perhaps...but to show picures of women in bikini's doing YOGA? C'mon. That completly goest against the yogi way of thinking...The way of the yogi is a selfless nature. I teach yoga and share the philosophies associated with yoga and find this to be somewhat offensive.

I can't figure out the purpose of this site? If you're trying to sell soft porn, I think you're wasting your time with all the real porn out there. I dunno, maybe the thought of mountain biking in a bikini just alarmed me so much that I got confused, but I failed to grasp what the whole thing is supposed to achieve.

Oh Yvette, your onto something... If you included pics of those girls CRASHING on their mt.bikes while wearing bikinis...THAT would get my attention!!! WAIT WAIT!!! Or if they took a 15 foot whipper!!!! bloody buddy! Those women aren't athletes...they are sex objects pretending to be athletes... Bring them here to Rifle and we'll put them on Fossil Family and see how they do... Or lets have them run the Leadville 100... Once again, a classic example of climbing being the "in" thing to do... OK OK my rant is OVER...in all seriousness: #1 put some REAL climbers on there, like Alli Rainey...(I'm pretty sure she'd be down to do it if the website changed a bit) #2 find athletes, not prissy modles pretending to do something they normally wouldn't do. Pretending to be someone you aren't isn't very attractive. #3 You have to decide one way or the other...either have your site catering to the fitness model audience, or to the alternative athlete audience... Right now it is definately fitness modelish...if you're going that route, you might want to include some comps. and fitness related discussion, like supplementation and nutrition. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't confuse climbers AS FITNESS MODELS!!!!!!!! We're a whole different animal....(or at least I am) LOOKING PRETTY IS ONE THING, BEING PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO IS ANOTHER -Meghan:) [ This Message was edited by: lilred on 2002-10-17 12:12 ]

I think they are an agency that specializes in 'athletic' girls for companies trying to get the x-games demographic... but that just my guess..

What the.... REI sponsors these guys??? I find that hard to believe. I'm going to do a little research into this because if it's true, I feel a boycott coming on. ~Erica

I don't see anything wrong with it. Since they're all on TR I suspect they're wanting to make some cash for some lead gear. As someone who has attempted to sign up for medical studies to finance gear needs I can understand situational ethics.

ROFL, Meg! I'd be interested to know if these women are actually real athletes. If not, the name of the site should be changed to Bikini Posers. Leave real athletes out of it. And Erica, let me know what you find out about REI. Yvette

Thank you for all your responses. In all fairness I happen to be one of the people on the site and I am an athlete I mountain bike almost everyday(hardcore biking and rock climb at Malbui Creek, which I happen to think is a respectable rock to climb. Yes all the women on the site are real athletes. It is pretty hard to capture that in a photo I guess. Maybe actual clips would be better. This site is not intended to be offensive or considered to be porn in anyway. Look at the e-zine area. We have tried to make it informative and fun and plan on adding more information when possible. This is meant to be a fun site with helpful information. The women just happen to be wearing bikini's. Big deal! p.s we also are designing our own swimwear and will be selling it on our site in the near future. Thanks again Carla [ This Message was edited by: carla on 2002-10-17 12:33 ]

I think it would be great to see the girl in the gymnastics section ACTUALLY DOING GYMNASTICS instead of just spreading her legs...I mean, doing splits. Just a thought. I'm a big fan of girls in bikinis but this seems like a pretty useless and degrading site.

Butt shots of leathery flesh TRing? Take my breath away! At least one of the "climbers" had the decency to wear shorts. Now, I appreciate the athletic female form as much as anyone, and artistic representations thereof (i.e., Stone Nudes... which is a fine artistic endeavor that I would gladly take part in, or mimic...) But this is just tacky. Your photos are amateur and uninteresting, and the models look very apathetic. I have taken plenty of back-and-arse shots of (clothed) people struggling up topropes with a cheap point n shoot. (And those aren't good pics either. They capture the memory, I share them with my friends, but they're nothing I'd try to market.) My crotch chafes at the mere thought of having my leg loop rubbing against my wedgie'd ass hitching up a high step! Gimme a pic of some broad in her skivvies leading a WI7 ice climb. Then I might be impressed. It'll still be tacky, but I'd at least take notice... I don't find this site offensive, but I do find it really lame.

Climbers are always going to judge you by the route you're on and the style you're doing it in. Just as the rest of the world will judge you by the way you look. It's just a different kind of superficiality. So you're gonna have to get on the sharp end and lead some stuff. Climb overhanging routes to reduce your chances of rope burn. Good luck.

I'm not sure why this site was invented...Maybe just to stimulate men? The pictures I saw are pretty absurd. I thought most women wanted to upgrade their status from sex object to intelligent woman or even just plan respectable... If women are complaining about not getting treated with respect, I think it is because of people like you, Carla, that keep on insisting that all we are is something to look at...Thank you very much from one female that feels like we just took a few steps back.

So the whole thing is an attempt to sell swimwear??? If you're planning to sell that swimwear to women, you might want to rethink your marketing strategy, though I'll give you that it does seem to be quite an original idea!
