Hoorah! Nice to hear some good news for a change. Lots of accidents here in Colorado lately, and almost none of them with good outcomes. Also looking forward to the trip report.

I got the same message from the embassy this afternoon. Apparently they managed to get down on their own and called their family from Yungay, a town near the Chopicalqui. What a great relief for their family and friends and a hopefull proof for everyone that one call for help can set people from all over the world at work... Kurt

am back! at least this thread became alive after a while, THANKS EVERYONE FOR WARM THOUGHTS AND SUPPORT!!! We definitely felt that out there... and i will write a trip report now that we´re back - just let us feed up a little, as the body is feeling shaky for the moment! but we are both good, Ren has just a little bit of frostbite, but otherwise food and rest and family talk is on the way.

Jeeez, Julia - so good to hear you back! Love to you and Ren. ... and I will write YOU GUYS a TR later on how my whole office has been scouring the web for multilingual updates and even my boss was helping search online with Ren's email address for his employer, making phonecalls to figure out what is your parents business called, etc.!! Yeah, I'm gonna kick your luckily-not-frostbitten ass when I see you!

Hell yeah, that's good news! Oh, I wanna read the TR and please don't spare the part where Taz kicked your butt for it all. I truly guess she'll be helped by Marc and the others... Welcome back to civilization! - Daniel

Should I say that I googleed Peru Noticias x times a day? That I was contacted by a journalist from the RTBF (I cowardly said that I didn't know you enough and asked her to see with stone or booger via rccom mail addresses...). Did you get my SMS - Yves gave me a new phone number? I had an old phone number which was apparently unvalid. Best wishes to Renaud! I hope his frostbites are really mild. Mlle Patience Zéro ou Mlle Frôle La Mort?

In other news? So how is everybody else doing? Sure, it took J&R missing for a week to get my ass back here. But it's been a loooooong year and the route only getting steeper and steeper! Paolo and I are headed off for Boston soon September 4 or so (and the Gunks!) for a cousin's wedding, and then Chicago for my brother's wedding... where I have to read in SANSKRIT (!!) ... yes, I'll post it up here later so you can all sympathize! Good to be back. ... Taz
