Only thing worse is Kouba Nuts! They are curved with a huge groove and make placement crap at best! The smaller sizes aren't bad but the smallest is the same as a BD #6? Maybe I haven't found the trick to setting them, but frankly I don't want to learn it!

what a retard! Grigris and autolocking harness belts are two of the best things going.

Least favorite gear though? Probably be mad rock anything. Their shoes are poorly made and fall apart super fast. I don't know anyone who climbs in them besides n00bs or people who get them free. Crappy harnesses that reportedly feel like wire on the guts. Cheap biners which are tough to clip. SIngle use haulbags. The fact that they led teh charge to make every piece of climbing gear in china. And that joe garland guy.

Agreed that gri gri's are great for sport and belaying noobs on TR. Auto backing buckles are great too. I do disagree with the mad rock shoes tho. IMO, mad rock makes some damn cumfy shoes, its just the rubber sucks. I don't know how they claim to have the "stickiest rubber in the world" when it is common knowedge you don't strap on your mad rocks for a proj. (they test their rubber with a 5 pund wight on a textured slope, yeah, like I weigh 5 lbs and only smear). Anyways my favorite pair of shoes for all day comfort is an older pair of mad rock phoenix's which fit like a dream and I had resoled with some 5.5mm Vibram. I can wear them all day long without taking them off, and still edge and smear pretty solid. Not a project shoe, but great for long days maybee my foot is shaped wierd, but I cant imagine another shoe I'd rather wear for 12 hours strait than my pair.

You youngsters weren't around for the worst pieces of gear ever made. SMC came out with a series of wedges and solid hexes in about '72 I think. The size and shape of them were such that they didn't seem to fit any crack anywhere. They were total and complete crap. Thank goodness Chouinard came out with good stuff.
