Jeff, sounds like you're well on your way to having that head back. That P2 of Gelsa is my scariest lead so far to date. Made all the worse by the fact that I went too high on that traverse past the bulge and got to the corner with my feet where my pro wanted to be. A blind #3 Camelot plugged in at my ankle turned out to be solid though. I want to go back and climb P3 when I have some more time to spend and enjoy it. It's a nice pitch. Awesome report.

Jjeff, mucho congrats on getting back into the lead head! I know the fear & confidence issues you were having really had you down on your climbing for a year or more, I hope your good luck continues. BTW, I've led P1 and P3 of Gelsa and thought they were a blast. fun climb!

What channel in New Paltz rebroadcasts the Sox? I'll be moving there Tuesday and I spent all of last summer listening to John Sterling.

Had a sweet day with Edge and meg and some RWU friends of ours jon and nate in W. mass today.. seemed to be the only dry place on the map and we rocked it hard... Got there a bit earlier than them.. wandered around and met up with a local we knew from NEB.. went back and met up with loran and meg.. bouldered for a while including a quick tour from another local who took the time from his rope climbing to show us a good boulder circuit. Temps were pretty aweful for the frictiony top outs of most of the boulders but we made due and slimed out way through. Sent some good problems... bombed off other good problems decided we should get on ropes before we were completely toast.. nate fired up a .9 with a short whip along the way.. jon TR'd it and then i pulled the rope and led it again to be the one to clean the anchor. Jon got on a .12 next to it on TR and made really good work of the bottom .11 part but the business involving a 90 degree roof proved too much. I should have got on it but was saving myself for another route but the rain caught up to us and we had to jet. boulder pics http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v115/Socjake/W%20mass/

Hi, so I just moved back to the Boston area after spending 4 years in central Illinois, and I'm looking forward to some climbing. I'm new to the rockclimbing.com boards, so I don't know the protocol, and I don't exactly want to read 773 pages of posts. Basically I'm looking for climbing partners. I'm 22, intermediate level climber. I can climb sport, but not trad (yet). I can lead around 5.10a, follow 5.11a. I'm a non-smoker and I enjoy long walks on the beach (jk). Let me know, thanks!

Hey Rob, I'm a no go for tomorrow, I now have 2 meetings tomorrow after school. If I get back from coaching early enough and the weather cooperates I might be meeting up with some folks at QQ this evening. The weekend is out for me too as I will be working at school. On the plus side this is my last weekend! Yippee!

Sort of got caught. Old Man Smith caught him "in the act" although Ken managed to get away but not without leaving some gear behind. Phots were taken but may ne be worth much. Various legal actions are in various stages. Will take awhile before anything definitive is done.
