I know I should go do something useful, like paint the bathroom, but I may or may not be going bouldering in a couple of hours (waiting for my friend to call).

Ya know what? I hate Southern Ontario. I couldn't find anyone who would go sport climbing with me this weekend.

Cheesetits is not going to show up if you want to go bouldering. History reinforces this.
I'm going to bolt some shit in a few hours. Waiting for the rain to pass right now.
Grrrr
It wasn't me she was waiting for. She does have more than one friend
And indeed I did go bouldering. I had a better time yesterday than Saturday, my arms are tight and my shoulders a little sore.

Kelly, I still can't get through the backstroke crux, but I might be getting closer.

By the fall we will nail that suka!!
Its my grip strength that keeps failing me. Either I need to get on it all the time, or I've got to find slopers I can actually hang on to in the basement and set up some sort of system wall section.

Problem in question from three years ago (for any that might be interested):
Glamor shot of Kelly too from a few weeks ago:

I foresee a lot of photos of us on this problem...its easy to get pretty good shots. We need one that shows that its actually pretty overhanging too.

Yes, I have two copies. Two different editions. I might be persuaded to lend on out with a hefty deposit. Or let you photo copy the parts you want. Not that you would want to stop in this wasteland.

Let me look it up, I know next to nothing about the place.

If I decide to go, I would give you a deposit on the book if you are willing to lend it. If it's such a cool area, why is the guide so hard to find?
Its not the cool new envouge area and there probably isn't a shit ton of new development happening. They were made in a single printing and they only printed however many they thought they could sell. I suppose there isn't enough demand yet to reprint. I almost sold my first edition to Redlegrangerone way back when for a good amount of money.

he would have cheesetitted the purchase one way or another.

First lesson:

Don't bring six weeks worth of one's consummables of choice INTO the park. Bury it somewhere safely OUTSIDE the park, bringing with you only what you anticipate needing during your stay in the park.Unimpressed

I have no desire to try to convince anyone that they should wear a helmet.
Do you ever get used to climbing in a Helmet?
Every time I've borrowed one to climb in I end up losing spatial awareness and constantly clunk my head into various things.

I wear one regularly and still smack my head into shit.

2nd pitch of human fright a couple weeks ago my head kept scraping all over the dihedral hanging over me.

At first we thought V5, but its just a V4. Once you figure out the body position most of its reasonable.

Shortened day out at a local crag for some instruction for him.
Re-seeated lots of the fixed pins at that crag.
Got lots of routes in too. Even managed to climb everything in my big wall boots/approach shoes... including the crux of a 5.9 slab in the R A I N! That was, well... interesting to say the least with approach shoes.

My belayer yells up: Hey it's raining a bit, eh.
Me: Yeah, I didn't fucking notice at all... the only dry hold being the crux foot holds U N D E R my feet and all.
Belayer: You think you can get up to that crack and get some gear in? Looks like you'll deck of you fall from there!
ME: Hey smart ass, thanks for reminding me of that, you can shut the %&^* up now. Thank you.
Belayer: *laughing*
Me: *Wishing the rock would dry faster*

Laughed about it when I got to the Anchor though...
You love the adrenaline rush, admit it!!!

YES!

I'm bored.

I know I should go do something useful, like paint the bathroom, but I may or may not be going bouldering in a couple of hours (waiting for my friend to call).

Ya know what? I hate Southern Ontario. I couldn't find anyone who would go sport climbing with me this weekend.

*pout*

I don't like that picture. The only way to get a shot of the actual overhang would be if someone were to stand in the river down low.

Look at the shot of Jackie on facebook. I just commented on it a couple of days ago so its probobly still in my history.
Not in your history but I see her profile pic is on backstroke. Thats an awesome picture, with the water in the back. What was your comment?
posta linky? I wanna see!

First lesson:

Don't bring six weeks worth of one's consummables of choice INTO the park. Bury it somewhere safely OUTSIDE the park, bringing with you only what you anticipate needing during your stay in the park.Unimpressed

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess that you, well, had "consummed" some of those "consummables" when you made the decision to bring it all into the Valley.

that was SOP back in the day. Well, night too. In fact, I was mildly surprised when 14 days later I tested negative. I thought it would have taken more on the order of 14 months, what with my history and all.

Back in the day.

Ahhh yes, abck in the day, I remember "Back in the Day"... Well parts of it atleast.
Summers of hard work, hard partying, hard climbing.... manual labour jobs (that really didn't take much thought to do)... Waking up, consume, drive to work, consume, work, consume, work more, consume more...

Ahhh... the day.
