It is actually BBQ prophylaxis. I can spill ketchup on myself in that shirt and no one can notice. Anyhow, I'm off to clean some potential routes and maybe drill a few holes for some bolts. I started the route in the first couple of pics moments after a major rockfall to the left. That was more than exciting, as you might imagine.
The really funny thing is that the route I am on is called "Breakneck (Direct)."

Yeah, we just were walking by at the right time. Some guys were climbing a rarely-done second pitch to one of the classic routes, and knocked off a block, which knocked off a few more. Never ran so fast in rock shoes before
That's probably my first major encounter with rockfall. It was scary. We were a bit edgy the rest of the day.

You hurry up when the sky opens up with a big crack and flash at the same time when you're 5 pitches up Yamnuska and still have 2 pitches + a short bit above that to top out and get the fuck out of there.... at least that's what we do when the sky opens up if down would be slower than up.

Bouldering aside, I find it doesn't feel right to not have a helmet on. So, yes, you get used to it.

But still the pix are good. Looks like a nice climb. I started the route in the first couple of pics moments after a major rockfall to the left. That was more than exciting, as you might imagine. The really funny thing is that the route I am on is called "Breakneck (Direct)." Holy crap! I bet that was un-nerving to some degree. Yeah, we just were walking by at the right time. Some guys were climbing a rarely-done second pitch to one of the classic routes, and knocked off a block, which knocked off a few more. Never ran so fast in rock shoes before That's probably my first major encounter with rockfall. It was scary. We were a bit edgy the rest of the day. Obviously you've avoided the Great Canadian Chossies so far.
Yeah, I prefer my anchors to stay in place.

I figured it was....that's a great route, too bad it's always mobbed.
I was looking for the specifics. Did he drop them while re-clipping to the harness... unclipping the biner after placing a nut....did he just freak out and drop them all in sheer terror ( ) jk

My anchors ALWAYS stay attached to the sling/cord/rope I build them with.
