I almost lost a whole set of nuts once when they almost all dumped off the biner. I don't remember if they caught on the nose or if they were all lined up on the gate and it opened and I somehow stopped them. I just remember being in an awkward position and grabbing them and almost losing everything but the biner.

I did the same thing once, that's why I asked. Luckily, I was only like 10 feet off the ground.

We all drop stuff. It happens. Sucks when you loose stuff because of it, though.

Me watching my nuts tumble to their new owners.

Nice shirt doc. You are stylin!
And who was taking this pic? Was someone climbing right beside you or what?
do you feel a little less masculine without your nuts?

Did you just drop the biner when you were trying to unclip one of the nuts?

btw, what route is that?
His nuts dropped on Thin Air.

I had my camera, but did not pull it out once during the day. Should have, but didn't.

I figured it was....that's a great route, too bad it's always mobbed.

Well, when you are on route before 8 AM on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend it makes things go quicker. Too bad neither notch nor I had ever climbed there, cause we detoured to the far left end of the Barber wall before we both had the epiphany that the route was waaaay in the other direction. We still were the first up Upper Refuse. I'd like to get back there, as I enjoyed the rock very much. Though, hopefully I'll be feeling a bit better the next time out. I have a few harder lines in mind.

I think doc dropped them due to the incessant need to hold his arse to keep the shite from filling his panites. He didn't seem to thrilled to ask if I or notch had a spare set of nuts for him to borrow.

Gotta wear the red shirt for the pictures. Duh.
And the start of the third pitch where my nuts dropped starts with a 6' traverse.
Why did you sling your first piece so long and why are there so many pieces in 6'?
Thanks for the critique majid.

Yeah I was about to pull over the slightly cruxy roof, and the first piece you see is my jesus nut after the anchor to keep from falling right on my partner or the anchor. As for the sling, I carry my slings over my shoulder, therefore they are always extended.

A great first impression is to ask to borrow someone else's nuts.
And how did you know I had shat my pants? I used plenty of Axe spray afterwards?

I almost lost a whole set of nuts once when they almost all dumped off the biner. I don't remember if they caught on the nose or if they were all lined up on the gate and it opened and I somehow stopped them. I didn't loose any of my nuts that time.

I did drop a draw a couple of weeks ago. Other than the micro fractures its still fine though. I mostly drop biners and draws. I did drop a whole set of nuts once, but I haven't made that n00b mistake (knock on wood) since I was a n00b.

That wasn't nesting. It was sewing. Laugh

I like to get a good piece right off the belay too. Just seemed counter productive to be slinging everything so long though.

Got beat up.

I was a wreck on Sunday when we went out. I think I climbed way to hard, way to many times last week and didn't give my body a chance to recover.

It wasn't a long weekend for us anyway. We are waffling about where to go this weekend. We were going to go to the Gunks, but I don't think either of us is really climbing on gear all that well right now. The last time we went out it almost turned into a travesty due to both our mental issues with long falls onto hard surfaces. It would be better if we both climbed gear with other people for a while. The weather is looking spotty too. We are also considering Rumney, the New, and the Red if Bec can get Sunday off.Crazy

Sure does. I didn't have any rope drag until about half way up the pitch when it started to get really slabby, so something must have worked out ok.
Probably helped that I didn't place that much gear on the rest of the pitch due to the my nuts dropping.

So I'm trying to decide if it would be worthwhile to import my truck to Canadia.

It seems like a lot of hassle and rather time consuming. Its old and chugs gas.

But its paid for.

We could buy a lot of gas for what it would cost to by a different car.

And I love my truck. Its been good to me.

We wouldn't get much for it if I sold it. Its been rode hard and put up wet far to often. But its still a great work truck. But I really don't need it for work anymore.

I doubt clipping that first piece with a single biner would have changed the rope drag.

It just seemed odd, assuming that the belayer took the picture and the rope is just making a big loop between the two of you. Doesn't seem like the piece would do much good.
