There is a route at Froggatt Edge in England called COCKCHAFER, which involves traversing a sharp edged roof with your hands above and your feet below...

Rape and run... My dad named that one... I won't ask.... White Lightning- a zigzag route that goes approximately 70 feet up and is distinguished by multiple chalk plants (hence the lightning)

There's one at Sugarloaf Mtn Called "I am a cam" you feel like one at the end of the climb. Check it out at: http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos.php?Action=ListPhoto&PhotoID=5659 "up and atom" "this end up" [ This Message was edited by: svilnit on 2002-09-04 16:19 ]

I think if my partner, Brigham Pitstick, were to put up a route, he'd call it PITSTICK with a CLIPSTICK Maybe I could put it up and he copuld clip the first bolt.

This is a great thread. My husband heard me laughing out loud from the other room and wanted to know what was so funny. Here's my contribution, all from the gunks: Welcome to the Gunks (5.10) Sixish (a 5.4+ that feels like 5.6) Bitchy Virgin (5.6) Bombs Away Dream Baby (5.8+) Cascading Crystal Kaleidoscope (aka CCK, 5.7+) Hawaii Five-Ten (5.10) Make Haste or Tomato Paste (5.10) One Blunder And It's Six Feet Under (5.10) MF 5.9 (I had a heck of a time on this one, and always thought it stood for m*er f*er, but I think it's actually someone's initials. Anyone know the real story?) Interesting that most of these climbs are named after pain, suffering, death, mayhem, or sex. Wonder what that says about us?

Among my favorites: "Synapse Collapse", Yosemite, on the left side of the Apron; thin fingers crux "Take Fist", at Beacon Rock, WA; large crack "Knob Job", Yosemite, I think at Five and Dime cliff?? (a Bridwell route-really fun 5.10a); and finally, "Exasperator", Squamish, 5.10c thin fingers...
