In reply to: *glee* Have ya tried Southwest or America West? They're usually the cheepest. I don't know much about those priceline.com-type deals though. FRANZIA KEG STANDS. ya can't argue with that. You must find a way!! Curt, you could be the designated shirt-taper... I already told you--tape is not allowed. Jeeze, trying to explain ethics to a sport climber is like trying to explain good politics to a Democrat. Curt

The walls of P-forks are going to look like El Capitan compared to what he use to climbing on and we don't want him getting veritgo or motion sickness the whole weekend.

BobD: You think mebbe we should take some time the first day of the gathering to explain to Curt what the rope is for, how to use that harness thing, the whole concept of a belay, and the fact that "climbing" generally means movement in an upward fashion? I mean, after all, he hasn't used those things in some time, and with the advancing age, I worry about dementia-induced memory loss. ;) Perhaps a clinic setting... Or would one-on-one instruction be a better option? Always looking out for others... that's me.

And FYI, I may be old--but I'm nowhere near as old as BobD is. Haha. No hard feelings though, I am quite happy to give you climbing lessons, bouldering or trad. :D Curt

In reply to: I am quite happy to give you climbing lessons, bouldering or trad. I don't want to get in over my head too soon, so how's about you offer some pointers on how to climb out of the tent? Once I get that down, maybe I can move forward. I *will* bring a bottle of Irish Whisky (note the lack of an "e" in Whisky...) to the gathering. Who's drinking it with me?

I'm bringing cask strength Macallan single malt to the shindig--116 proof. Curt

I'll set up a hauling system that the rest of 'em can use to haul our sorry, hung-over arses outta the tent, and you set your pad just outside the vestibule, so when we fall face first, it won't hurt too much. We'll need coffee, too. LOTS of coffee.

Now now, let poor BobD alone. First time I visited CO I was stunned to find out how much of the state is really Nebraska. Not that I know the first thing about fishing, but I found you a couple links: Fly Fishing More fishin' Looks like the place to go for that is the Payson area. (Lake Mary, right by our camp, stocks yer standard rainbow trout, FWIW) But why leave the crags for fish? If you want to see crappie or flounder, you got me for that! :D
