In reply to: Looks like the place to go for that is the Payson area. (Lake Mary, right by our camp, stocks yer standard rainbow trout, FWIW) But why leave the crags for fish? If you want to see crappie or flounder, you got me for that! The only person who is going to flounder is Curt when he gets more than 30 feet off the ground. You know what they say about those boulderers, short burst of strenght and then...nothing. And I hear that's in other aspects of their lives too. About water. Flagstaff is in the mountains folks. There has got to be a stream somewhere within 30 miles of the place????

In reply to: I say we git the whole mess o' people up in that piece and win us a couple of kegs for the gathering! :P That's a capital idea. And just to up the ante, I say we belay each other with a munter hitch, just to watch the climbing wall operators get that deer in the headlight look.

In reply to: There's a Ren Fest in Arizona?!?!? Sweet! I can wear my kilt! When and where? Ah yes..forgot you just moved here, Reno! Ren Fest starts late February ends mid March. It is between Phx and Queen Creek on the US 60. Can't miss it. I used to go to the one in NY when I was young and this one knocks its socks off. Apparently, there is a huge medevil contingent in AZ. Many, many dress up, althogh it can get pretty dam hot to wear those heavy costumes. If you pick up tickets at Fry's ahead of time, you can knock down the price for admission to $15. Figure $6 for a chance at the tower...$20 if you make it. Admission = $1

(Zac raises his hand) Oh please, please, please can I be incharge of the booze Erica?   Seeing as how you can probably drink ALL of us under the table, I could not think of someone more worth to hold this esteemed honor. Any objections? (Now mind you, I have no idea what being "in charge" of the booze entails. One might think you would be in charge of supplying the libations for the weekend. That being the case, not only should you be in charge of it, we will all crown you King of the Free World. )

In reply to: About water. Flagstaff is in the mountains folks. There has got to be a stream somewhere within 30 miles of the place???? Yeah....Upper and Lower Lake Mary. Near the Pit. Just don't eat the walleye. Really. Some of the highest concentrations of mercury I've ever found in AZ. Of course this doesn't apply to Curt. He's obviously already eaten more than his share.

Hypothetically let's say 2 people were leaving the LA/OC area sometime Thursday nite and arriving in Phx or Tucson 6-7 hrs later would there be someone who would offer crash space for these 2 hypothetical travelers to sleep in the am? Oh and these 2 hypothetical people would most likely NOT be traveling with a hypothetical Australian Shepard who hypothetically likes to bite people named curt or alex.

Hypothetically, you could stay at our place in Scottsdale--unless, of course, your planned hypothetical arrival time in AZ will be in the middle of the night. In that case your hypothetical place to crash would have to be elsewhere. Hypothetically speaking :D Curt

If you're tired if/when you get to Tucson and wanna stay, CALL MEEEEEEE, you can even call at the wee hours of the morning, I don't sleep like normal people. I gots a little room, as long as you're not allergic to a hypothetically beaucoup amount of cat hair, and are down with my husky-dawg who doesn't bite, but also doesn't listen. I (hypothetically!) have a class on Friday, but you can come with me, if you're awake. ;) If the hypothetical dog trainer can stand being in a cat person's house, AND in the one hour I am at school make my dippy dog HEEL and COME I would hypothetically submit myself to indentured servitude and sacrifice my first born. heheheh I have one double bed and one couch, but if you guys hypothetically wanted to buddy up in my bed, I hypothetically wouldn't tell everybody ;) Otherwise, bring the camping pad. My floor is vinyl. Cheap vinyl. With bubbles in it. OK, my house is small and a little ghetto, but me casa es su casa, and it's free ;) If we have a little bit of time, I could even show you the nearby quicky crags or boulders for some gathering, uh, foreplay. :D Oh, I'll suggest to Alex to wear his hypothetical cup.

Oh, piss off! :P I kinda figured that but thought maybe Art had a master plan, and I covets the Art ;) Oh, and I DID get me a wife per your suggestion. The house looks much better these days. He did the dishes last weekend, and I was so delighted I swept out the massive wad of cat hair and freshened up the boxes.

If anyone needs a place to crash in Phoenix on Thursday night as a pit stop before heading up to Flag, you're more than welcome to crash at our place. We've got one futon and another bed (which might be occupied by my sister then), and plenty of carpeted floor space. Ivan and I are taking off that Friday, so no worries about coming in late. PM me for directions. ~Erica
