knock it off. 1. it sucks. 2. it has a huge impact and reflects poorly on climbers.

Next time sack up and deal with it in person. The person will probably never see this post. It must have been annoying though.

Some people like music while they climb. If you can't say anything in person, don't whine about it here. Grow some ballz.

Maybe whoever it was could have been more considerate. but, it is a free country and there are some yahoos out there.

Walk up to the person and politely ask them to turn it down 50 decibels? You rolled your eyes repeatedly. Made damning comments to you party about the jerk. Posted on the internet..........That will show'em Even if the loudass does see this thread do you actually think it will have any impact? He's laughing at you right now!! LOL LOL LOL Should this kind of noise pollution go on in a park? NO of course not! It's a rude and selfish act. But everyone one was right grow some balz and speak up in a timely manner to the appropriate persons.

Hey ANL Why don't you ask Majid what he would do? If I were you I would have PM'd him from the crag on your laptop and followed his advice. When will you people get it, just ask Majid!!!!!

I don't see why you're so pissy, just kindly ask them to turn it down a little next time. If they become jerks about the situtation I've found rocks somehow find their way down onto the boom box more often than not.

While I agree that while the OP'er should have said something at the time, idiots playing loud music at a craig would have pissed me off royally. I would have gone and said something, but then again, I have no sense of manners. Seriously though, what kind of asshole goes rock climbing and blasts music in an area with many other people?

Throw some white gas on their boombox and light it up, that's the way they deal down JT way. DMT

Hey angry nature lover check out this quick little ditty... me and some mates freequent one of the lesser traveled passes in our mountain playland. There is ample roadside camping for free, no services. This area is not all that well known or travelled by the climbing world at large, just a few small and mostly independant groups at work. At these road side camp spots you might see tourists (rarely), hikers et al (sometimes), fisherman (mostly) and hunters BIG TIME this time of year), oh and a few of us climbers. This time last year, actually it was during bow season which is a tad earlier, I was camped there. Had a nice fire going, finished dinner and had indulged in a stout or two in anticipation of my partying friends to show up. They were late. Anyway, across the road is another camping party. Hunters, could tell by a simple glance, they had 'the Look.' (as distinctive for hunters as it is for climbers, the very air they vibe us unique). They had REO SPEEDWAGON, of all things, blaring out Riding the Storm Out at about 140 decibels. Now this is a roadside camp spot and I've seen all kinds here, I frequent the place. I even know the Mexican crew that camps there once a year and unloads semi-autos early in the morning just for the fuck of it. I dare you to go tell THEM to stop, haha. So my boys?! They're playing REO Fucking Speedwagon, in 2006 fer christsakes! LOUD. It didn't particularly bother me, all in all. Later in the evening it would have but just then it was like, ok, annoying, but I could deal. I was actually in a good mood when their song ended. You know how silent that end of song thing can be after blaring a boom box into the night. Just as everything quieted down I shouted at the top and I mean the TOP of my considerable lungs: "REO SPEEDWAGON FUCKING SUCKS!!!111 TURN THAT MOTHERFUCKING THING OFF!!!111" You could hear my voice echoing down the canyon, Off off off off off off..... Now I fully expected them to crank that fucker right back up. That's what Ida done in their place. Guess they thought I might be armed too cause.... the doused the fire, turned off their lanterns, locked up the trucks and I heard no more from those boys. So when my pards finally showed up? WE blasted em back with System of a Down! Why'djya leave the keys on the table??? REO SPEEDWAGON???? DON'T GET ME STARTED!!!111 DMT

dingus wrote: Oh and I doubt any of these folks busting your balls would have asked them to turn it down either. DMT Disagree. It's not that hard to simply say "would you mind turning your music down or putting on headphones?!" No reason why a "normal" person would get defensive to that.

Normal people don't blast you with their shitty music. Inland Empire Tweakers, on the other hand, might blast you with a bit more than their stolen speakers! Cheers though! DMT

climbed at Dairy Queen yesterday. figured as good a time as any before that gets swarmed by the masses. only two other parties while we were there. mellow day on saturday though, when we were climbing on the Cow Formations, on the north end of Real Hidden Valley, we heard what sounded like gun shots in the distance, from somewhere between there and Park Blvd. i shouted, not liking the idea of getting hit by some errant shot. the shots continued some more before finally stopping, after like 20 rounds
