I do not care what anyone says. I think he may have tried one or two, to resist a pump on Realization...(which i do not think really works) But a rumur just got way out of proportion.

In reply to: I've heard this from several people... is it true, or just a rumor? He is the Michael Jordan of our sport. shouldn't he be setting a better example? no he doesn't... and no he shouldn't... and it shouldn't matter to anyone but him if he does...

In reply to: No doubt...... Below is a clip from a 2001 news story about Sharma getting stripped of his world cup title. Secondly, climbers shouldn't be your role models. We are selfish and self-absorbed. "Chris Sharma has been stripped of his Munich World Cup bouldering title after failing the event’s mandatory drug test. According to Marco Scolaris, GeneralcSecretary for the International Council for Competition Climbing (ICC), traces of cannabis were detected in Sharma's urine sample. Sharma won the Munich competition on July 23, just days after sending one of the toughest routes in the world: Realization (5.15a), in Ceuse, France. After the ICC was notified of the drug test results, Sharma was “removed from the ranking, consequently losing placement and relevant points for the final WC ranking,” says Scolaris. “Moreover, he will be requested to return the trophy and money prize.” Spaniard Daniel Andrada, who placed second in the event, will now move up to first place. The ICC currently oversees drug tests in 80 percent of their competitions. Marijuana, among other drugs, is a banned substance. In Munich, Sharma underwent a random drug test before the event, and then, after winning, he was tested again. According to the regulations on doping issues, Sharma can appeal the case and request another test on the second sample, but at his own expense. The ICC Disciplinary Commission will convene next week to decide a possible sanction, usually a three-month suspension for the first infraction. Stay tuned for further reports on the ICC decisions." In november 03 sharma was in mexico i was listening one guy asked him about that , (x climber said)cris what do you think about to use or not drugs ? (cris sharma said)I am not going to tell you that it is good and that is bad , that is your own choise

He is the Michael Jordan of our sport. shouldn't he be setting a better example? Like any icon his life is not yours...... .....but people always start to think there are ideals that people like him should have. I bet more than half of the time he is awake, he wishes that people who superimpose ideals on him knew nothing of his name or accomplishments. but If it were me..........in my own selfish absorbption, i wouldn't give a feck what needle noses normalites think, i know what i do is right for me.......and im just a climber like the rest when it comes down to it. Out.

What I heard, is that Chris Sharma has renounced rock stardom - and the riches and trophy girlfriends that come with it. He has forever given up climbing to follow in the footsteps of musical legend Yusuf Islam (aka: Cat Stevens), and thus has chosen to move into an Islamic Mosque and devote his life to prayer...

And what's with the late rush of posts about Sharma? RC.com : the sharma propaganda machine.

If people really want to look up to Chris as an idol than perhaps they should take a stance more similar to his. Do you think he would really care what choices other climbers make as far as drinking, smoking, etc. I believe that he would have respect for others choices, so if you really look up to him, show some respect for others.

This is not Hollywood. He's just another climber, not Ben Affleck or Brad Pitt.
